- After 50+ years of shoveling snow, we decided to try the Sun Belt for a change. After purchasing a home here and commuting to Chicago for three years I was finally able to retire and move here fulltime. In 'The Best Nest', a childrens story that we used to read to our sons, Papa Bird sung "I love my house, I love my nest, In all the world, My nest is best!" I've got that feeling. I love my home and my adopted state and I really feel the sentiment on my Zuki's bumper "American by birth, Texan by the grace of GOD!"
